If you are thinking about running a YCC project yourself, you may find it useful to contact the Project Consultant, Tricia Kings. She has worked with the programme since its inception and can provide information, advice and further consultancy and training.

The support available includes:

  • Consultancy on project planning, delivery and evaluation
  • Training, such as a YCC Awareness Day for partners at the start of your project
  • Help with planning, implementing and reporting on evaluation
  • Information and advice on approaching potential partners
  • Resources tailored to your project, including templates, checklists and toolkits

Tricia has worked in public libraries for over 20 years. She has been Co-ordinator of Children’s Library Services in Nottingham and Co-ordinator of Children’s and Schools Library Services for Derbyshire. She now works partly freelance as a trainer and consultant and is also a Project Manager with The Reading Agency.

Her main freelance work is with YCC, most recently with Devon schools, libraries and arts organisations and their county-wide programme ‘Inspiration, Aspiration, Partnership’. Her  Reading Agency work covers programmes for children and young people, including Chatterbooks (children’s reading groups), The Big Book Share (family reading in prisons) and the recently launched Children’s Reading Partners (a new partnership between public libraries and children’s publishers).
