Follow-up

Building on the Young Cultural Creators experience

Following a YCC programme there are several areas of continuing activity:

• books by the writers and illustrators they have met are read, shared and discussed.
• more information is gathered, about pictures, artists, authors, or the project’s theme.
• young people create their own writing, pictures and objects inspired by the project.
• children are encouraged to read more widely – for example by trying more books on the same theme, or books by authors who write in a similar way to the authors they have met. Librarians can provide the children and teachers with inspiring booklists.
