Running a project

QUOTE: ' . a particularly imaginative way to link libraries, schools and art galleries, to encourage and extend the range of creative work produced by the children.' Librarian. IMAGE: Children's art work inspired by a workshop with Korky Paul at the Tate Modern

A Young Cultural Creators programme contains:

• a visit to the local library
• an exploration of a museum, archive or gallery with a writer or illustrator
• a follow-up workshop at the library with an author first met during the
exploration
• a display and celebration of young people’s work in the library
• on-going activities that build on these experiences.

The main partners include: the library service, a museum, archive centre, or gallery working with schools, authors and publishers.

Young people themselves can be involved in planning projects – for example through reading clubs based in libraries or schools.
